What are the legal requirements to be married in Australia?
  • Both parties must be over 18 years of age
  • Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) form is lodged with your Celebrant no less than one month prior to your Marriage Ceremony
  • Check out the Attorney-General’s Department
  • You sign a Declaration of No Legal Impediment To Marriage prior to your Ceremony
  • You need two Witnesses who are over 18 years of age (and can understand English)
How long will the ceremony take?
  • Depending on your choice, the legal requirements only take a few minutes
  • A personalised Marriage Ceremony may take up to 20 minutes to perform
Can a religious component be included in the ceremony?
  • As a Civil Marriage Celebrant, I certainly welcome religious elements for inclusion eg blessings or prayers. I have performed interfaith ceremonies
What information is required from us for you to provide a quote?
  • Venue – interstate or local
  • Date
  • Time of day
  • Number of guests
  • Type of ceremony: legals only, short civil ceremony or personalised ceremony
Are you an insured business and do you guarantee your work?
  • I maintain current public liability insurance at all times
  • If I am unable to complete your ceremony, due to illness or accident, I have a current list of replacement celebrants that are highly recommended
What makes you the most reliable and trustworthy celebrant for my ceremony?
  • I am a professional Marriage Celebrant who is registered, insured and recommended by my clients, venues and peers
How much should I expect to pay?
  • My Ceremony fees vary depending on the time of year and day of the week (peak season/off-peak, weekdays, weekends, public holidays), the location of your wedding ceremony and requirements of the ceremony
Is there a particular aspect of your industry that you specialise in?
  • Not many celebrants perform naming ceremonies, whereas I just love them!
  • All the family gets involved and, as I have Grandchildren of my own, I have some lovely words that are incorporated into the celebration
What experience, skills, qualifications or training do you have to make you the right Celebrant for my wedding?
  • I am an Authorised Marriage Celebrant with over 10 years in experience. Annually, I undertake the mandatory OPD Training for Celebrants, to keep abreast of legislative changes and to update my skills
